Nature Paintings

These aren't great but I loved doing them.

I gave this one to my grandmother.

Richard's Stomach

The Tapeworm inside Richard's Stomach is hungry.  Richard's Stomach is hungry too, but he's fallen in love.  Tapeworm doesn't care: she knows that he could never stand to watch his love suffer and will soon put Pineapple Popsicle out of her misery.  Can Richard's Stomach save Pineapple Popsicle and disgorge Tapeworm before it's too late?

Remington Bivalve

(Because someone asked:  No, I did not paint these.  If I could paint like Frederic Remington, I wouldn't be typing this because I instead would be painting stacks and stacks of gorgeous paintings.  But I hear all my teachers (that I miss) say that I have it backwards.)

Doorway Johnny

Every night at the party where he lives, people think that Doorway Johnny is just too cool for school slouching in such a fey and aloof way.  But the truth is that Johnny is very very sleepy.  Last night Johnny was sure that he could stay awake all night and see the sunrise and find his Green Son.  But, like every night, he got soo close before, despite his best efforts, he fell asleep struggling right into his dreams.  The next evening, just like every evening, he wakes up exhausted just as people are starting to arrive for tonight's party, and he knows he'll make it this time.

Old Stomach Stuff

I found this old animation from class.  Richard's Stomach and then a loop of a frisky hotdog.

Maya's Notebook Trailer

This is a group project to create a trailer for Isabel Allende's new novel, Maya's Notebook.

It's hard to parse apart who did what, but, for the sake fairness, here's everyone who was involved followed by what I did:        Priscila Caballero
                                        Steven Celiceo
                                        Cory Fuller
                                        Lenny Hung
                                        Lisa Purdy
                                        Nic Rudy
                                        Polly Tzelepis
Richard Watson did all the sound (except for the clean main theme heard at the beginning by Kevin Macleod), boarded the final concept for the trailer,  used Cory's village and interior and animated it with stars behind, animated the slot machine using Priscila's highway signs, animated the truck sequence using Priscila's painting, created animated dance scene, painted the disgusting hallway, created the figure-in-doorway-revealed-by-flash-of-light scene, some coloring, some editing, some compositing.

Schrödinger's Cat

Schrödinger's Cat
      (a cinquain)

Come here
my feline friend,
climb into this sealed box.
Never mind the Geiger counter,
silent.

Meow?
Not yet observed,
the cat observes itself:
You may reveal so much to us,
or not.

Alas,
the box top lifts.
He rolls His lofty dice.
No longer entangled, moggie
sleeps deep.

Stuff In Anticipation of Roy's Arrival

I'm posting this stuff because I told my friend Roy to check out my blog, so know I have to put up something at least maybe worthwhile.

Dear Peg Entwistle, We're sorry you felt that way.

But if you would just be patient.  Sincerely, Richard
